Looking to expand your child’s interest in learning while having fun at the same time? Inquiry-based learning like project work allows children to investigate a question or problem over a period of time. Learning is a product of many experiences over time, it takes more than a single experience for learning to happen. One of the best aspects of this approach is that they often lead to extended, ongoing investigations. Learning experiences that extend beyond one-off activities, that can be repeated or returned to, and that lend themselves to ongoing involvement, encourage deep learning. This allows children to develop the skills and processes of learning such as problem-solving, inquiry, experimentation, hypothesizing, researching and investigating. In these three weeks, teachers will support and guide the children as needed based on their interests, engaging in a series of activities that will enrich their learning experience. As the children choose themselves what to investigate the learning is deeper because they are genuinely interested and in charge of their learning!
